I’m a huge fan of Strava’s distance goals, however travelling to the US for a conference threw a potential spanner in the works. With a single day between arriving in San Francisco and the conference starting, not to mention Wiggins’ #myhour on the same day, I elected to try and recover from jet lag instead of rent a bike.

Thankfully, the hotel had a bike-equipped gym and courtesy of some fine jet lag I threw myself out of bed at 5AM to get some distance logged (and on the Keynote morning to boot)!

My goal in the gym was a higher average pace than usual (aiming for 26-28KM/H). With 3 thirty-minute sessions under the belt I hit the 35KM mark with ease and it felt great to continue building a routine for exercise. Now, to raise that weekly goal…
